night maybe

“There’s no maybe about it, night maybe is a must.” (Aussie Theatre)

“It is rare when all the elements of a show come together in such a perfect way to create a special piece of theatre. night maybe is a glorious example of this.” (Theatrepress)

“The questions it raises about masculine and feminine personas makes night maybe a must see.” (ArtsHub)

“You’re intrigued, mesmerised, frightened yet seduced by Brookman’s lyrical and bold writing.” (Australian Stage)

“Part parody, comedy, tragedy and art work, the brilliant thing about tonight, despite there being no recognizable resolution, was that Night Maybe kept me and the audience in a kind of hypnotic trance from beginning until the very end.” (Crikey)

“This is a spectacular set design, the park rendered with actual lawn and trees, with bold lighting that uses chiaroscuro extremes.” (The Age)

night maybe

By Kit Brookman

Directed by Luke Mullins

You’re already lost. What’s a bit further?

Tom abandons his sister Sasha by the side of the road. She plunges headlong into the night.

Her search for him takes her to a park, an alleyway, a riverbank - even to the far reaches of Siberia.  As she hunts him down, Sasha peels back the layers of their shifting relationship; past the unreliability of gender, sexuality and both their bodies. But as Sasha discovers, looking in someone’s true face means you might have to see your own...

Stuck Pigs Squealing has a nationally and internationally recognised reputation for creating exceptional theatre, and memorable experiences for audiences. The latest work from this acclaimed theatre company, night maybe is a funny, vicious and disturbing free-fall through the subconscious.

“The company is not interested in conventional, neatly packaged plays but in high-spirited, raw and poetic works that explore human nature at its most difficult, comical and depraved.” (Sydney Morning Herald)
